“Artist Supporting Artists” is an initiative aimed at galvanizing the artistic community in support of one other. Too often artists come across the challenge where their needs and self-development opportunities are seen as secondary. We believe that everything starts from awareness and wish to shed light on undiscovered artists.
With this humanitarian initiative we aim to raise awareness about artist around the globe, and direct proceeds from MISCHA Notebook sales to support education. We hope to expand the initiative in the future and count on your support
We present the works of four artists:
Ani Sargsyan is a young artist from Vanadzor, Armenia. After finishing school at UWC Dilijan she continued her education at Luther College where she is a rising senior studying art and museum studies. In terms of her artworks, Ani specializes in painting and has begun to create digital art as well. Her artworks are a combination of Armenian culture and heritage as well as portraiture. The boldness of color and establishment of identity through the use of historical symbols and styles is very fascinating for Ani. She aspires to continue exploring this concept and creating works in this direction.
Joy Okeke is an Nigerian American amateur artist who focuses on abstract emotional expressionism. Her main mediums are oils, acrylics, and ink. She began her exploration of visual arts in high school by taking a few intro art classes. She has combined self- teaching and college building/ drawing courses to refine her skills. She has been featured in several group exhibits and is working on her first solo exhibit.
Joy is working on building up a distinct artist portfolio.
Ben Moore is the department head and an associate professor of art in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Luther university.
